4 Million Children

Empowering children through fun, resilience, and self-healing.

Through Our Social Circus Pedagogy, we empower children in challenging environments by fostering joy, fun, and resilience that help them heal and grow.

Mobile Mini Children Circus

We take children seriously.  Our pedagogy relies on working with children for children. In our activities, we are in a role of a facilitator, not a teacher, trainer or lecturer.

Our approach is participatory, where children and youth take the lead and direct us. In this way, we facilitate the discovery of potential and the development of social skills allowing diverse individual participation to unite the children in learning and playing.

Building an Expanding Network of Circus Pioneers. So far in Afghanistan, Ethiopia, and Bangladesh:

Afghanistan

As of 2024, we support 38 male and female youth team leaders across 17 provinces, who run weekly social circus activities for over 2,000 girls and boys, along with events and performances for their communities.

Ethiopia

We support three social circus teams in Ethiopia’s Chencha region in collaboration with our partner NGO, Bright Star. Launched in 2002, this initiative has been steadily expanding ever since.

Bangladesh

We are strengthening our three social circus teams in Rohingya refugee camps and three social circus teams in the host communities, bringing more fun and educational entertainment to a wider audience.

Future Regions

Leveraging our experience, expertise, and established expansion network, we are now seeking additional partner NGOs to help extend our impact and reach more children globally.

Our numbers that speak

Since 2002, we have delivered educational entertainment shows, workshops, and events to over 4 million children, primarily in Afghanistan, as well as in Bangladesh and Ethiopia. As of 2024, we operate 38 teams across 17 provinces in Afghanistan, 3 in Ethiopia, and 6 in Rohingya camps and hosting communites in Bangladesh. Each team engages average 35 children in weekly activities, performances, and community events, reaching a larger audience and benefiting entire communities.

What we do:

  • MMCC is a nonprofit humanitarian organization inspiring challenged children & youth to discover their potential and take the lead in creating lasting cheerful societies.
  • We bring healing through amazement and inspire hope where children need it most.
  • Using the magic of circus arts, we make a positive impact on children’s lives worldwide.
  • We collaborate with local communities in places like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Ethiopia.
  • We train and build social circus teams with children who perform in refugee camps, schools, and other local venues.
  • Our educational performances incorporate important messages, including health and peace.
  • We create safe, inclusive spaces where children can develop, heal from trauma, and thrive in their local environments.
The MMCC has gone beyond just a “proof of test” for humanitarian aid to being a community model that can deliver on children’s needs in the most adverse and resource-tight context.

Unfortunately, there are only five stars, for if there were ever an organization that deserved an even higher rating, it would be the MMCC. Kudos to the staff for their ongoing work shaping future generations.

I was so delighted to hear of the work of the MMCC and hope any and all will contribute donations and love for this important work. This is the kind of invasion that makes me excited to be living today. Come on board and touch the forces for peace, justice and care for all people.

MMCC transfors abstract concepts of resilience-building into tangible community impact. By designing programs that carefully balance cultural sensitivity with transformative play, MMCC has created what sociologists might term “liminal spaces” — thresholds where existing social constraints can be temporarily suspended, allowing new possibilities to emerge.
